Four-Letter Words, an evening of eight short plays about love and race, will have its world premiere as the midweek attraction at the Sacred Fools Theatre on Feb. 15. The Tuesday-Wednesday night run is through March 8. The show is produced by Gerald McClanahan and is written, directed and acted by members of Sacred Fools.

Four-Letter Words was conceived by McClanahan. Why love and race? "First, because it opens during Valentine's Week. Second, because as an African-American, the subject of race and its role in the dynamics of human interaction interests me," said McClanahan.

The writers include McClanahan, Nicole Barrett, Aaron Francis, Brad Friedman, Adam Markowitz, Melissa Roddy, James Tosney, Blake Williams and Alexander Woo. The directors are Denise Bernard, Bill Garrity, Robert Henry, Joe Hernandez-Kolski, David Holcomb, Peter Mattson, Detra Payne, Tenny Priebe and Sam Toffler.
