News Fox Acquires New Musical Comedy From Peter Knight and Jason Winer 20th Century Fox TV has sold "The Sound Of The Sumners," a new single-camera comedy that will incorporate a musical element and original songs, to Fox, according to Deadline.com.

The project, from writer Peter Knight, will be executive-produced by Jason Winer, who directed the "Modern Family" pilot, and Renate Radford.

Winer is also in talks to direct the comedy, which is described as a "truly honest exploration of a contemporary family featuring a unique musical element that involves an irreverent and buzzworthy use of original music and songs."

Winer's work also includes "1600 Penn," "Arthur," "The Adventures of Big Handsome Guy and Hi Little Friend" and more. 

Fox's musical series "Glee" will conclude this season.
