Frank Rizzo Takes His Final Bow as Theatre Writer for Hartford Courant | Playbill

News Frank Rizzo Takes His Final Bow as Theatre Writer for Hartford Courant Frank Rizzo, who has served as a full-time theatre writer at the Hartford Courant for nearly 34 years, announced Nov. 29 that he will be leaving his position to "pursue other cool projects."

Rizzo posted a farewell letter to his readers in his column "Behind the Curtain."

Read his letter below:

"It's been a hell of a theatrical run. After nearly 34 years, I am bringing the curtain down on my role as full-time theater writer for The Hartford Courant to pursue other cool projects.

I couldn't have had a better audience of smart, discriminating and engaged readers who kept me on my toes, told me what they thought, and was an endless source of encouragement and inspiration.

Thanks, too, to the hardworking folks at all the theaters who opened their doors, allowing me to cover not only what was on stage but what was behind the curtain.

I'll continue to write about theater in Connecticut, and beyond. After all, I love new works, theatrical comebacks and revivals with a twist."

Rizzo concluded his farewell with, "See you at the theater!"
