News Frankenstein's Jonny Lee Miller Will Play Sherlock Holmes in CBS Pilot "Elementary" Stage and screen actor Jonny Lee Miller has signed on to play Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming CBS pilot "Elementary," according to Deadline.com.

The project, written by Robert Doherty, is a modern take on the cases of Sherlock Holmes, who, in this version, resides in New York City. Michael Cuesta is set to direct.

Doherty, Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly are executive producers of "Elementary."

Miller, who was seen on Broadway in After Miss Julie, alternated the roles of Victor Frankenstein and the Creature in the 2011 West End production of Frankenstein, directed by Oscar winner Danny Boyle. His film and television credits include "Dexter," "Eli Stone" and "Endgame," among others.
