P.J. Barry's play will be presented at 7:30 PM. The cast comprises H. Ryan Clark, Anne Marie Nest, Tom Schall and William Wickham.

A Broken Down Greyhound in the Rain, which is set in a flooded Connecticut town, concerns "an ex-Colonel and a young musician [who] wind up in a jail cell, both accused of separate crimes involving a bus accident."

Upcoming readings include the one-woman show Stella Rising, written by and starring Napua Davoy (Sept. 25 at 3 PM), and the Bill Solly-Donald Ward musical Sweet William (Oct. 6 at 3 PM).

According to the York, Stella Rising is the story of "a cross cultural post-World War II marriage gone awry and the baby boomer children spawned of dysfunction. [The new work] takes us from Japan to Oklahoma and from Christian fundamentalism to Zen serenity." In Sweet William, "the young Will Shakespeare goes on the road with the Stratford Players and meets a girl called William. Along the way he also has to cope with a vicious boy-player, several theatrical crises, unexpected romance, and a bear."

The readings will be presented at the York's home at The Theatre at Saint Peter's on 54th Street, east of Lexington Avenue.
