Act a Lady, according to production notes, is described thusly: "Gender lines blur, identities explode, and life and art meld into a dizzying farce when the men of a small Prohibition-era town perform a period melodrama in fancy-type women-type clothes."

Playwright Harrison has also penned Kid-Simple and The Museum Play. Director Kauffman has also helmed Sides: The Fear Is Real, Typographer's Dream, The Loyal Opposition, Hang Ten and Fear and Misery of the Third Reich.

The Ars Nova is located in Manhattan at 511 West 54th Street. Reservations are required; call (212) 977-1700. For more information visit www.arsnovanyc.org.
