News Free Reading of Sheppard's Roommates Presented Nov. 22 The free Out Loud reading series, presented by The Underwood Theater and Ars Nova, continues Nov. 22 with Roommates.

Julian Sheppard's play will be presented at 7 PM at the intimate Ars Nova Theater. Directed by Carolyn Cantor, the cast for the one-night-only reading is set to include Jenny Ikeda and Jess Weixler. The work is described as a new play "about life, death and crashing parties." Roommates, according to production notes, asks whether it is "possible to love New York now more than ever. In a small Upper East Side apartment, Abby and Josie confront the pleasures of codeine, the significance of the name Orville and survival after tragedy.

Playwright Sheppard has also written Buicks, Love and Happiness, Whatever, After America, A Hole in the Earth and From Now On. A member of MCC Theatre's Playwrights Coalition and the Dramatists Guild, Sheppard has received the Le Comte de Nouy Award twice.

Although the reading is free, reservations are required by calling (212) 977 1700. All Out Loud readings are held at the Ars Nova Theater, located at 511 West 54th Street, west of Tenth Avenue.
