News Free Reading of Villa Diodati Musical, About Frankenstein Author Shelley, to Be Presented Jan. 24 The York Theatre Company's Developmental Reading Series will continue Jan. 24 with Villa Diodati or Mary Shelley — Scenes From a Life.

The free reading will be presented at the Theatre at Saint Peter's at 3 PM. Villa Diodati features music by Mira J. Spektor and lyrics by Colette Inez. The musical, according to the official York website, is described as such: "Villa Diodati brings to life Mary Shelley, the author of the famous monster, Frankenstein. It takes place at Villa Diodati in Switzerland, which housed the Shelleys' last happy summer, where they entertained guests Lord Byron and his mistress Claire, along with the ghost of Mary's mother, Dr. Frankenstein's monster and six American tourists. The intrigue involves guests, love, ghosts and premonitions."
