Tough Choices for a New Century: A Seminar for Responsible Living by Jane Anderson (The Baby Dance) has been bringing Y2K paranoia to Locus Media as a part of the 1999 New York International Fringe Festival. Performances end Aug. 29.

An audience participation one-act black comedy, Choices welcomes the audience into a surviving natural disasters seminar led by paranoid midwestern couple Bob and Helen. Their in-fighting escalates until Helen storms out during a sadomasochistic Japanese furniture demonstration, only to return as Arlen, a gun-toting Texan and perhaps Bob's soulmate.

Jeff Philips of "Guiding Light" stars as Bob with Tricia Paoluccio (A View From the Bridge) as Helen/Arlen.

Tickets are $11 and can be reserved by calling (212) 420-8877 or (888) FringeNYC. Locus Media is located on the tenth floor at 594 Broadway between Houston and Prince. The New York Fringe Festival is on the internet at http://www.fringenyc.org. -- By Christine Ehren
