Special Features From Forever Tango to 700 Sundays, A Look at the 2013-14 Season: Special Engagements With the 2013-14 Broadway season coming to a close this month (April 24 was the cut-off date for eligibility for the 68th Annual Tony Awards), Playbill.com offers a four-part look at the current season. From the return of Forever Tango, featuring Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy of "Dancing With the Stars" fame, to Billy Crystal's 700 Sundays, which was filmed for HBO during this Broadway engagement, here is an overview of the four special engagements that opened in time for the 2013 Tonys, which will take place June 8 at Radio City Music Hall.

Synopsis: "Forever Tango is music, drama, culture, a way of life," press notes state. "The popularity of tango has exploded all over the world. Sensuous and sophisticated, the tango is a feeling that you dance. A story is channeled through the flick of the leg, the tug of a hand, the tap of a foot, and the arch of an eyebrow. It’s passionate, yet melancholic. Tender, yet violent. You dance it with somebody, but it is so internal, you dance it by yourself."

Original Principal Cast: Graham Alexander, John Brosnan, Ryan Coath, JT Curtis, James Fox, Reuven Gershon, Chris McBurney, Luke Roberts, Ryan Alex Farmery, John Korba and Daniel A. Weiss.
Synopsis: Let It Be began as a West End production to celebrate The Beatles' 50th anniversary. Using projection technology and 3D sound, the show chronicles the Beatles' rise from Liverpool's Cavern Club to the height of their fame through live performances of songs including "Twist and Shout," "She Loves You," "Drive My Car," "Yesterday," "Hey Jude," "Come Together" and "Let It Be."

Show: Il Divo – A Musical Affair: The Greatest Songs of Broadway

Synopsis: The quartet have a history with musical theatre; Marín played Marius in Les Misérables when the show first premiered in Spain in 1993, while Miller played Rodolfo in the 2003 Broadway production of La Bohème. Il Divo have sold over 26 million albums worldwide, achieved over 50 number one records, received 160 gold and platinum sales awards in over 33 countries and staged four groundbreaking world tours.

Synopsis: The autobiographical 700 Sundays is described as "an original two-act play in which Billy plays numerous characters that have influenced who he is today. It deals with his youth, growing up in the jazz world of Manhattan, his teenage years, and finally adulthood. It is about family and fate, loving and loss."
