The performance comes from the soundtrack of the upcoming “Sex and the City 2.” In the film, Minnelli will perform the number at the wedding of Carrie and company’s gay confidantes, Stanford Blatch and Anthony Marantino, played respectively by Willie Garson and Broadway veteran Mario Cantone. The film opens May 27.
Minnelli’s frequent collaborator, Billy Stritch, is credited in the film’s cast list as “Band Leader,” so presumably it is he who’s conducting the number and giving it a decidedly swing edge in certain sections. Enjoy, darlings:
