News Full Casting Announced for European Premiere of The Color Purple at London's Menier Chocolate Factory Full casting has been announced for the European premiere of The Color Purple, beginning performances at London's Menier Chocolate Factory July 5 prior to an official opening July 15, for a run through Sept. 14.

Joining the previously announced Cynthia Erivo (Celie), Nicola Hughes (Shug), Adebayo Bolaji (Harpo) and Abiona Omonua (Nettie), are Lakesha Cammock (Squeak), Christopher Colquhoun (Mister),  Sophia Nomvete (Sofia), Neil Reidman (Pa) and Keisha T Fraser (Churchwoman). The ensemble includes Marc Akinfolarin, Ashley Campbell, Leon Lopez and Gabriel Mokake. The musical, which is directed and designed by John Doyle, is adapted for the stage by Marsha Norman, with music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis and Stephen Bray.

Musical supervision is by Catherine Jaes, choreography is by Ann Yee, costumes by Matthew Wright, lighting by Jane Cos and sound by Gregory Clarke. The Color Purple is produced by special arrangement with Scott Sanders and Roy Furman.
