Joining the previously announced Caroline O'Connor as Mama Rose are Victoria Hamilton-Barritt (Louise), Daisy Maywood (June), David Fleeshman (Herbie), Lucinda Shaw (Mazeppa), Jane Fowler (Electra) and Geraldine Fitzgerald (Tessie Tura).
Hamilton-Barritt last starred in Flashdance (UK tour and West End's Shaftesbury Theatre), and has also appeared in Grease, Desperately Seeking Susan, Fame, Mamma Mia! and Saturday Night Fever.
Maywood was last seen at the Curve as Peggy Sawyer in 42nd Street. She has also appeared as Meg Giry in the 25th anniversary concert of The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall.
Fleeshman has worked regularly at Manchester's Royal Exchange and Library Theatres, and in London was last seen in the Tricycle's Justification of War.
Shaw has appeared in the West End in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and in Australia in Spamalot, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Sweet Charity, Pippin and Dusty - the Musical. Fowler was seen in 42nd Street at Leicester Curve, and in the West End has appeared in Chicago, Sweet Charity, Sunset Boulevard and Crazy for You. She has also been seen at the National Theatre in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Love’s Labour Lost, Anything Goes and Guys and Dolls. She played Roxie in the original UK tour of Chicago.
Fitzgerald was seen in 42nd Street at Leicester Curve. West End credits include Mamma Mia!, and she has also appeared in The Invisible Man at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
The company also includes Jason Winter, Stuart Ramsay, Matt Gillett, Matthew Caputo and Ryan Gover. The professional cast are joined by 17 local children in two teams, which will perform on alternate performances. Hannah Everest and Lulu Mae Pears will play Baby June, and Hollie Pugh and Olivia Price will play young Louise.
Gypsy is directed by Curve artistic director Paul Kerryson, with choreography by David Needham, designs by Sara Perks, lighting by Philip Gladwell, sound by Ben Harrison and musical direction by Michael Haslam.
