The show is described as such: "The Showmen is Silver Studio's latest hit musical motion picture! Or at least it will be, if freshly hired composer Edward Rutledge can deliver the sensational songs he's promised to studio head Sid Silver. Unfortunately, distractions abound once Edward meets Vivian Bradford and Roger Corwood- America's favorite leading couple on (and off) screen. With an original score that turns the classic movie musical formula inside out, you'll laugh, you'll cry, and everyone will fall in love- with The Showmen."

The Showmen features music and lyrics by Noel Carey and a book and additional lyrics by Ryan McGovern.
