News Fun Home's Sydney Lucas Will Star in The Secret Garden at Lincoln Center Acclaimed Fun Home Tony Award nominee Sydney Lucas will star as Mary Lennox in a concert presentation of the Lucy Simon-Marsha Norman musical The Secret Garden in February 2016 at David Geffen Hall.

Lucas will step into the role that was created by Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan in the original 1991 Broadway production of the musical. Eagan's performance not only garnered her a Tony, it also cemented her place in theatrical history as the youngest actress to ever win the theatre's highest honor.

Stafford Arima (Allegiance, Ragtime, Carrie) will direct the Feb. 21-22 concerts at David Geffen Hall (formerly Avery Fisher Hall). The concert will include a cast of Broadway principals backed by a chorus of over 200 singers and the New York City Chamber Orchestra. Michael Kosarin will conduct.

The Secret Garden has a book by Norman and music by Simon.

The Secret Garden opened at the St. James Theatre in April 1991, playing 709 performances before closing Jan. 3, 1993. The musical is based on the famed novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The original Broadway cast also featured Mandy Patinkin, Alison Fraser, Rebecca Luker, Robert Westenberg and John Cameron Mitchell.
