Leary stars in the Emmy Award-nominated series as a New York firefighter grappling with everyday life in the wake of the events of Sept. 11, 2001 opposite Pasquale (who will star in the upcoming A Soldier’s Play Off-Broadway) and Sunjata — who portray members of his fire house. Other series regulars include John Scurti, Michael Lombardi, Jack McGee, Andrea Roth and James McCaffrey. The New York-set, New York-shot show ends its current second season run this September, having also provided television appearances for many other theatre veterans including Michael Mulheren (The Boy from Oz), Charles Durning (Gore Vidal's The Best Man), Callie Thorne (The Last Days of Judas Iscariot), Gerry Bamman (Nixon's Nixon), Julie White (Fiction), Bryan Batt (La Cage aux Folles), Kaitlin Hopkins (The Great American Trailer Park Musical), Ashlie Atkinson (Fat Pig), Mireille Enos (Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf), Idina Menzel (Wicked, Rent), Rosemarie DeWitt (Danny and the Deep Blue Sea) and Kate Burton (The Constant Wife).
Behind the camera, Jace Alexander (director of the current Off-Broadway musical Once Around the Sun and actor from the original cast of Assassins) has served as a director for a number of episodes. Playwright Stephen Belber (Match, McReele) has also lent his pen to the series as a writer.
