Emanuel Azenberg, Richard Frankel and Harold Prince will act as honorary co-chairs for the event, called "Broadway Salutes Yiddish, A Benefit for the Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre."
Among the performers expected to appear are: Bruce Adler, whose parents were Yiddish theatre stars; Second Avenue legend Mina Bern; actors Theodore Bikel and Tovah Feldshuh; Fyvush Finkel, who got his start on Second Avenue; Fiddler on the Roof lyricist Sheldon Harnick; Avi Hoffman; Souvenir star Judy Kaye; "Star Trek" actor Leonard Nimoy among many others.
Playing for these talents will be two bands: The Zalmen Mlotek/Frank London Orchestra; and the Billy Joel Band, in a appearance produced by Charles Rapp Enterprises with original cast members from the Broadway hits Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia and Moving Out.
The event benefits The Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre, America's sole surviving professional Yiddish theatre.
