The Storefront will present several evenings of Dead Divas this June at the West Village cabaret, The Duplex.

Featuring music made famous by women — and some gay men — who are no longer with us, Dead Divas will make its debut at The Duplex on June 1 at 8 PM. The musical tribute will also be performed on Saturdays, June 8, 15, 22 and 29. Audiences can expect to hear songs made famous by Judy Garland, Marlene Dietrich, Dinah Shore, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Janis Joplin and even signature tunes of that late piano-playing showman, Lee Liberace.

The ten-member cast of Dead Divas features former Chicago star David Sabella (Mary Sunshine) as well as a host of New York cabaret performers: Lisa Asher, Phil Geoffrey Bond, Kristy Cates, Jarrod Cafaro, David Gurland, Audrey Lavine, Marina MacNeal, Julie Reyburn and Marcus Simeone. Conceived and directed by Bond — who is the artistic director of The Storefront — musical direction will be supplied by Alfredo Alvarez.

The Duplex is located at 61 Christopher Street in New York's West Village. There is a $15 cover charge and a two-drink minimum; call (212) 255-5438 for reservations.
