News Gattelli and Adler to Stage Altar Boyz for Bristol Riverside Theatre Tony-nominated choreographer Christopher Gattelli and Altar Boyz' Gary Adler will collaborate to stage that hit boy-band musical for Pennsylvania's Bristol Riverside Theatre in May.

Gatelli, who created Altar Boyz' signature hip-hop moves and earned a Tony nomination for his work on the Lincoln Center Theater revival of South Pacific, will direct and provide his original choreography for the production that begins performances May 12 and runs through May 31 in Bristol, PA.

Co-songwriter and lyricist Gary Adler will serve as musical director for the resident production of Altar Boyz that will feature Xavier Cano as Juan, Matt DeAngelis as Matthew, Jonathan Fadoul as Abraham, Travis Morin as Luke and John Pinto, Jr. as Mark.

Bristol describes Altar Boyz as "a spoof about a heavenly guy-group – 5 small town boys named Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham – trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time. Their pious pop act worked wonders on the Ohio bingo-hall-and-pancake-breakfast circuit. But when fate brings them to New York, will the Boyz take a bite out of the forbidden apple?"

Designing Altar Boyz are Nels Anderson (set design), Linda Bee Stockton (costume design) and David Pedemonti (lighting design).

Altar Boyz has music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker with book by Kevin Del Aguila. The musical is based on a concept by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport. The musical to continues to play Off-Broadway's New World Stages.
