News Gavin Lee to Join West End's Top Hat; Charlotte Gooch Also Takes Over The West End production of Top Hat, based on the film of the same name, will see Gavin Lee joining the company from Feb. 5, 2013, to replace Tom Chambers as Jerry Travers, the role originally played in the film by Fred Astaire.

Also new to the cast is Charlotte Gooch, who replaces Summer Strallen as Dale Tremont from Nov. 27.

Lee returns to the West End, where he previously originated the role of Bert in the London production of Mary Poppins, which he subsequently reprised on Broadway and on the U.S. tour. His other London credits include Crazy For You, Peggy Sue Got Married, Me and My Girl, Over My Shoulder, Oklahoma! and Contact.

Gooch has recently completed a run playing the leading role of Penny Johnson in the U.K. national tour of Dirty Dancing, a role she also played at the Theatre am Potsdamer Platz, Berlin.  Other theatre credits include Patty in the U.K. tour of Grease and Bombalurina in the European tour of Cats
