Based on the celebrated book of poetry by Joel Derfner, the one-night-only event features Jennifer Lauren Brown, Nic Cory, Trey Gerrald, Josh Hemphill, Patrick McAndrew, Eric Ulloa and John-Michael Zeurlein.
Thomas Dolan produces.
Gay Haiku is described as "a hilarious and poignant exploration of the absurdities of gay life in New York. The show, which uses Derfner’s deft verse as a launching point for a diverse series of vignettes, mines issues ranging from online dating and gay marriage, to Grindr, AIDS and closeted finance guys. Within the current renaissance of gay theatre in the city, Gay Haiku aims to shine a positive and honest light – from a fresh, youthful perspective – on what it means to be gay in New York in 2014."
