Tony nominee Barbara Walsh, who recently replaced Sandy Duncan, stars in the production. (Performances were originally scheduled to begin May 11 but were postponed due to Duncan's withdrawal from the world premiere due to illness.) Creating Claire will conclude as scheduled on June 6.

The cast also features "Sex and the City" actress Lynn Cohen and Broadway veterans Michael Countryman and Celia Keenan-Bolger.

Creating Claire, according to George Street, is a "powerful exploration of the supernova that results when science, faith and politics collide. Employed as a docent at a Natural History Museum, Claire (played by Barbara Walsh) comes under fire when her tour-guide patter deviates from the strict scientific beliefs of her formidable supervisor and heads down a more spiritual path."

Barbara Walsh received Tony and Drama Desk nominations and the Los Angeles Ovation Award for her work as Trina in William Finn's Falsettos; her other Broadway credits include Company (Drama Desk nomination), Hairspray, Big, Blood Brothers, Nine and Rock 'N Roll ! The First 5000 Years. Off-Broadway she has been seen in Normal, Forbidden Broadway and Birds of Paradise, and her regional credits include Master Class, The Most Happy Fella, Houdini, Exactly Like You, A Streetcar Named Desire and Ragtime. Walsh's screen credits feature roles in "Life with Mikey" and "Law & Order."

George Street Playhouse is located at 9 Livingston Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ. For ticket information visit GSPonline.org.
