As previously announced, The Plastics, the clique of three young women who terrorize their high school, will be played by Taylor Louderman as Regina George, Kate Rockwell as Karen Smith, and Ashley Park as Gretchen Wieners.
Take a look at the three below:
Mean Girls will begin performances October 31. The musical features a book by Emmy winner Tina Fey (who wrote the screenplay for and appeared in the original 2004 film), music by her husband Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Tony nominee Nell Benjamin.
The premiere engagement is scheduled through December 3 with direction and choreography by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw. Though the musical is expected to open on Broadway in 2018, no official dates have been announced.
Similarly to the movie, the musical will follow Cady Heron, who joins the American high school food chain after having lived in Africa with her parents for most of her adolescence. Determined to end Regina’s vicious reign as Queen Bee of the school, she devises a plan to tear her and her “Plastics” down.
Erika Henningsen, who made her Broadway debut as the youngest Fantine in Les Misérables history in the recent revival, will play the central role of Cady.
The cast will also include Barrett Wilbert Weed (Heathers) as Janis Sarkisian, Grey Henson (The Book of Mormon) as Damian Hubbard, Tony nominee Kerry Butler (Catch Me If You Can) as Ms. Norbury, Kyle Selig (The Book of Mormon) as Aaron Samuels, Cheech Manohar as Kevin Gnapoor, and stand-up comedian Rick Younger as Mr. Duvall.
