Emojiland kicked off its run at the New York Musical Festival July 17. Three of the production's stars (including its two creators, the husband-and-wife team of Keith Harrison and Laura Nicole Harrison) recently stopped by the Playbill studio to showcase some of the comedy.

In the video above, Angela Wildflower, who plays Police Officer, performers the number "A Thousand More Words." She and the composers also explain the background of the song and how it's incorporated into the emoticon-laden musical.

The cast also includes Olivier winner Lesli Magherita (Matilda), Josh Lamon (Groundhog Day), Jordon Bolden, Cooper Howell, Megan Kane, Jessie Alagna, Brandon L. Armstrong, Chloe Fox, and Alex G. Kunz.

Thomas Caruso directs the presentation, running through July 22 at Theatre Row. The creative team also includes choreogrpaher Kenny Ingram, set designer David Goldstein, lighting designer Jamie Roderick, projection designer Lisa Renkel, costume designer Sarah Zinn, and sound designer Ken Goodwin.
