News Get "Up Close" With Fun Home's Tony-Winning Creators at Drama League Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron, the Tony-winning duo behind the acclaimed musical Fun Home, will be featured in The Drama League's Up Close series Oct. 14.

Beginning at 7 PM, the event will be moderated by Kathy Henderson.

Kron is a writer and performer, who starred on Broadway in the play Well, which she also wrote. Tesori has written the scores for the Tony-nominated Twelfth Night; Thoroughly Modern Millie; Caroline, or Change; and Shrek the Musical. Together, Tesori and Kron are the first all-female writing team to win a Tony Award for a musical's score.

The last time two women were nominated for Tony Awards for Book and Score was 1991, when Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman were nominated for their musical adaptation of the young adult novel The Secret Garden.

Along with Book and Score, Fun Home received a total of 12 Tony nominations, including Best Musical; Direction of a Musical; Actor, Actress and Featured Actress in a Musical; Orchestrations, Scenic Design and Lighting. It went on to win Best Book, Best Score, Best Direction (Sam Gold) and Best Actor in a Musical (Michael Cerveris).
