Gilbert O. Herman, an actor and Air Force officer who appeared in the World War II drama, Winged Victory, died Sept. 6 in Annapolis, MD, The New York Times reported. Mr. Herman, who was 80, was a second lieutenant and played an officer of the same rank in the Broadway play written and directed by Moss Hart, staged during the war. The play was about World War II airmen and benefitted the Army Emergency Relief Fund.
The Philadelphia native acted in plays and movies, and later became a television executive.
