PlayBlog "Glee" Ratings: Spring Season Episode 7 "Glee" was paired with "Hell's Kitchen" instead of "American Idol" on the night of its June 1 episode, “Funk.” The pairing helped Fox to win the average ratings race again, although “Glee”’s numbers were down from last week: 9 million viewers from 11.5 million last week and a 3.8 18-49 rating from last week’s 4.8. The show came in second place in its time slot to the season premiere of “America’s Got Talent,” but gained in its ratings for the 9:30 half of its time slot.

The ratings are also the best any “Glee” show that hasn’t followed “American Idol” has received, according to tvbythenumbers.com.

The episode, “Funk,” featured recurring guest stars Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening), Idina Menzel (Wicked) and Stephen Tobolowsky (Morning’s at Seven). Songs performed include “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Tell Me Something Good,” “Loser,” “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s Man’s World,” “Good Vibrations” and “Give Up the Funk.”

Next week’s episode, “Journey,” is the series’ season finale. Groff and Menzel will return, as will Olivia Newton-John and Josh Groban. Songs scheduled include "Faithfully," "Any Way You Want It" / "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'," "Don't Stop Believin'," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "To Sir, with Love" and "Over the Rainbow."
