After being pre-empted for the World Series the previous two weeks, last night's airing of "Glee" showed a slight uptick in overnight ratings from its last broadcast.
According to TVByTheNumbers.com, FOX's music-heavy show starring Broadway's Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele garnered a 7.35 million viewers and a 3.3 rating in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic (compared to a 7.2 million/3.2 demo rating for the Oct. 21 show.)
Making the ratings performance particularly impressive was the fact that "Glee" was up against atypical fare, namely the Country Music Awards on ABC (16.8 million viewers, 5.2 in the 18-49 demo), whose big winner of the night, Taylor Swift, has a large following among the "Glee" demographic.
This week's "Glee" episode, titled "Wheels," featured performances of the songs "Dancing with Myself," "Defying Gravity" and "Proud Mary."
Next week's show, airing Nov. 18, will include the songs "Papa Don't Preach," "Endless Love" and "Imagine."
