News "Glee" Star Jane Lynch Will Host Backstage at the Geffen Fundraiser Honoring Carol Burnett Tony Award winner Carol Burnett will be honored at Backstage at the Geffen, which will be held June 4 at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.

Emmy Award-winning "Glee" star Jane Lynch will host the annual fundraiser, which is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. Performers will be announced at a later date.

Burnett will receive the Distinction in Theater Award. Also honored at Backstage will be Fox Filmed Entertainment chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos, who will be presented with the Distinction in Service Award by Oscar winner Warren Beatty.

Burnett, who received a Special Tony Award in 1969, was nominated for her performances in Once Upon a Mattress and Moon Over Buffalo. She has also been seen on Broadway in Hollywood Arms, Putting It Together and Fade Out – Fade In. Read more about Burnett's theatrical history at the Playbill Vault.

Backstage at the Geffen supports the theatre's artistic and outreach initiatives. The evening's honorary co-chairs are Robert A. Iger and Willow Bay; Dr. Judith Reichman is the Geffen committee chair.
