News "Glee" Star Morrison Signs Record Deal Golden Globe and Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison, who currently stars in the popular FOX series "Glee," has signed a deal with Mercury Records to record his solo debut album.

People.com reports that Morrison is set to begin work on the album, which is aiming for a fall release that will coincide with the second season of "Gleee." Morrison's Broadway appearances in Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza and South Pacific have all been recorded on the cast albums of those musicals. Morrison is also represented on the "Glee: The Music" Volumes 1 and 2.

It was previously reported that Morrison's "Glee" co-star, Spring Awakening actress Lea Michele, has also signed a deal with Columbia Records for an upcoming rock album.

"Glee" is set to return with all new episodes April 13 at 9 PM ET. Visit Fox.
