The film, which Nelson wrote will also direct and star in, will feature Oscar and Tony nominee Sam Waterston (Abe Lincoln in Illinois, "The Killing Fields"), six-time Oscar nominee and three-time Tony winner Glenn Close ("Albert Nobbs," Sunset Boulevard), Tony nominee Jessica Hecht (A View from the Bridge, "Breaking Bad"), Corey Stoll ("Midnight In Paris," Old Acquaintance), Gretchen Mol (Chicago, "Boardwalk Empire") and Kristen Stewart "Twilight," "On the Road"). The cast will also include Michael K. Williams ("12 Years a Slave," "The Road"), Gloria Reuben ("Law & Order: SVU," "ER"), Mickey Sumner ("Frances Ha," "The Borgias") and K. Todd Freeman ("Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "The Dark Knight"). Nelson will play Waterston's son.
"Anesthesia," which marks Nelson’s fifth directorial feature, follows the various stories of New Yorkers whose lives converge after the violent mugging of a Columbia University philosophy professor.
