John Glines, playwright (Men Of Manhattan) and producer of such landmark gay works as Torch Song Trilogy and As Is, hopes audiences will start discovering his new play, How Now, Voyager which will play at NYC's The Grove Street Playhouse, beginning July 1.

Set in the early 1940's, How, Now is a play about a shy, homely homosexual who goes to a spa in Vermont, pumps up, comes out, then goes on an ocean cruise where he meets a man who can light two cigarettes at the same time. Producers claim "Any similarity to the classic Bette Davis/Paul Henreid/Claude Rains/Gladys Cooper movie is purely coincidental."

The production originated as a late night summer special in 1997, where it garnered enough critical success to make the producers mull a move to a different time slot.
