Inspired by true events, Jay Berkow's new play "captures the real life tensions and challenges surrounding the making of Gene Kelly's 1953 M-G-M classic," according to ATF notes. "A volatile love triangle, a co-star who cannot dance and low L.A. water pressure all threaten the completion of 'Singin' in the Rain.' ATF's production invites audiences into Kelly's rehearsal studio where he strives to create what became his most iconic film."

The show's cast features James Patterson (of Broadway's Beauty and the Beast) as Gene Kelly; Krista Kurtzberg as the unknown Debbie Reynolds; Justin Goodemoot as Kelly's former assistant and co-director, Stanley Donen; Hilary Rushford, former Rockette and cast member from the Broadway tour of 42nd Street, as Jeanne Coyne, Kelly’s former assistant, future wife — and Donen's ex-wife; and John Moss as Arthur Freed, the songwriter and M-G-M producer, around whose 1930s songs the movie was constructed.

What a Glorious Feeling is under the direction of the author with choreography by Christopher G. Patterson, and music direction by Kenney Matthew Green. The production features scenic design by Jonathan Wentz, lighting design by Gary Burlew, costumes by Jean Brookman and properties by Holly Breuer. What a Glorious Feeling is a co-production with the Depot Theatre in Westport, NY. The show was originally produced at the Mason Street Warehouse in Saugatuck, MI.

Performances are at the Charles R. Wood Theater, 207 Glens Street, in downtown Glens Falls through July 3.
