On February 4, Feinstein's/54 Below hosted a sold-out concert production of Bright Lights, Big City, the 1999 Paul Scott Goodman musical based on the novel by Jay McInerney. The concert, directed by Alex Tobey, featured a star-studded cast that included Matt Doyle, Christy Altomare, Julia Murney, Taylor Iman Jones, and more.
According to press notes, Bright Lights, Big City "follows a week in the life of Jamie, a successful young writer who loses himself in the chaos of 1980s New York City." The show originally premiered at New York Theatre Workshop in 1999 and has since gone on to live through a celebrated concept album, a London production, and several concert stagings.
