At the 7 PM concert, the duo will be joined by Pete Donovan on bass and Tommy Crane on drums.
Mendez and Paguia draw from an eclectic mix of music, re-imagining songs from popular music in the familiar setting of a jazz piano trio and vocalist. Their catalogue features the work of Alexi Murdoch, Alicia Keys, The Beatles, Feist, Fiona Apple, Gladys Knight, Janis Joplin, Jeff Buckley, Joni Mitchell, Lenny Kravitz, Macy Gray, Martin Sexton, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, The Police, Stevie Wonder and U2.
Mendez, who currently stars in the Broadway revival of Godspell at Circle in the Square, was also seen in Everyday Rapture, Grease and Off-Broadway's The Marvelous Wonderettes.
Paguia composed the Fringe First Award-winning How to Act Around Cops (New York and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals). He has musically directed Everyday Rapture and Peter and the Starcatcher at New York Theatre Workshop, as well as the national tours of Disney’s On The Record and Flower Drum Song.
