Goodman artistic director Robert Falls announced Feb. 11 the boys would not be coming into the famed resident theatre, and that a production of Ain't Misbehavin' will replace it. The Boys writers are composer-lyricist Leslie Arden and librettist Rebecca Gilman. Falls was to have directed the new musical, which was inspired by Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing.

Director Chuck Smith's staging of Ain't Misbehavin', the popular revue of songs by Fats Waller, was originally slated for April-May in the Goodman's Owen Theatre. It'll be bumped to the Albert Theatre and assume the dates of The Boys are Coming Home (starting previews June 21 toward a June 30 opening, continuing to July 27).

The season shift creates one open slot in the Goodman's 2007-08 Owen season, to be announced in the coming weeks. All dates, play and artists are subject to change.

The Goodman won the Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre in 1992, and is widely known for originating major revivals of Death of a Salesman and Long Day's Journey Into Night, both of which moved on to Broadway.
