Last year, journeyman regional actor Howard Witt -- who has put in decades of good work in theatres in Chicago and St. Louis -- received some late career praise and a Tony nomination for his portrayal of Charlie in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's Death of a Salesman.

Now, Witt has returned to the theatre where Salesman originated: the Goodman Theatre of Chicago. Witt is featured in the cast of Rebecca Gilman's new work, Boy Gets Girl. The play began previews March 3, opened March 13, and will end its scheduled run April 8.

Also in the cast are David Adkins, Matt De Caro, Shayna Ferm, Mary Beth Fisher, Ora Jones and Ian Lithgow. Michael Maggio directs.

In Boy, Gilman looks at the forces that shape modern views of women, using one "terrifying incident" as a focal point. Gilman's other works include Spinning Into Butter.
