News Goodspeed Hires a Scout for New Musicals Goodspeed Musicals announced that Casey Hushion has been engaged as an artistic associate/new works scout for the Goodspeed Opera House and The Norma Terris Theatre.

"In a move that further solidifies Goodspeed as the leader in developing and producing musical theatre, Hushion's appointment continues Goodspeed's commitment to new and emerging artists," according to the Connecticut not-for-profit known for its revivals and new musicals.

Based in New York City, Hushion will be responsible for scouting, identifying and evaluating new works to be considered by Michael P. Price, executive director, and the Goodspeed producing team for potential productions on the Goodspeed stages.

A graduate of New York University, Hushion's association with Goodspeed Musicals includes serving as assistant director for Babes In Arms (2002), Brigadoon (2001) and George M! (2000). Most recently, she was assistant director of the pre-Broadway production of The Drowsy Chaperone at the Ahmanson Theatre.

Hushion directed and/or choreographed numerous productions and workshops including Poe (Cherry Lane Theatre), Monica! The Musical (Manhattan Theatre Club) and Meet John Doe (NYMF Festival 2004).
