News Goodspeed Musicals 2014 Season Will Include World Premiere of Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn Musical The world-premiere musical Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, based on the classic film from Universal Pictures, is among the titles in Goodspeed Musicals' 2014 season.

The Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals will present Holiday Inn Sept. 19-Nov. 30, 2014, at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, CT.

The musical, based on the Academy Award-winning film, features music and lyrics by Berlin with a book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge ("The Playboy Club"). Greenberg, who directed the Goodspeed productions of Happy Days and Pirates of Penzance and Off-Broadway's Working, among others, will also helm the musical.

Holiday Inn, which features classics such as "Happy Holiday" and "Easter Parade," is produced in association with Universal Stage Productions and by arrangement with The Irving Berlin Music Company.

Damn Yankees, featuring words and music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop, will kick off the season April 11-June 21, 2014. The musical is based on the novel "The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant" by Douglass Wallop with book adaptation for "The Red Sox Version" by two-time Tony-Award winner Joe DiPietro. Damn Yankees will be directed by Daniel Goldstein.

Following Damn Yankees will be the 50th anniversary production of Fiddler on the Roof, featuring music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and a book by Joseph Stein based on Sholem Aleichem (stories by special permission of Arnold Perl) June 27-Sept. 7. Fiddler on the Roof will be directed by Rob Ruggiero.

The 2014 season will be produced by Michael P. Price.
