News Goranson Stars in Wellman's Cat's Paw at Soho Rep, Dec. 15 Alicia Goranson has wandered a long way from sitcom-land. Some years ago, Goranson (fka “Lecy” Goranson) was a familiar face to television viewers as teenage daughter Becky on the popular program "Roseanne." After dropping out of sight for a while, she unexpectedly cropped up in the lead part of Naomi Wallace's dark drama, The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek at New York Theatre Workshop. She followed that up with another impressive NYTW gig — last season's marathon mounting of two of John Guare's "Nantucket" plays, Lydie Breeze, as well as a featured role in the film, “Boys Don’t Cry.”

Now, Goranson has completely left the mainstream. She will lead the four person female cast in Soho Rep's production of experimental playwright Mac Wellman's Cat's Paw. The play runs Dec. 15 through Jan. 3, 2001, with an opening on Dec. 21. Daniel Aukin, the man behind last season successful Soho Rep staging of Quincy Long's The Year of the Baby, will direct.

Cat's Paw is advertised as "a meditation on the Don Juan Theme minus Don Juan." Also in the cast are Ann Talman, Nancy Franklin and Laurie Williams. Soho Rep presented Wellman's Hypatia last season.

Tickets are $15. Soho Rep is located at 46 Walker Street in Tribeca. For more information, call (212) 479-7979.
