A public celebration will be held on Broadway to honor the literary and theatrical career of the late Gore Vidal, who died July 31 at age 86. The event will be held noon to 1 PM Aug. 23 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, current home of the Tony-nominated revival of Gore Vidal's The Best Man.
Friends and admirers from film, television and theatre will present selections of Vidal's famous works, as well as share personal remembrances and stories.
The Events Research Program was established to identify and track protocols that would help theatres and more venues safely welcome back audiences. Its findings have yet to reach producers and theatre operators.
