International News Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Starring Martin Shaw and Jeff Fahey, Sets West End Dates The limited engagement will play London’s Playhouse Theatre.

The U.K. tour of Gore Vidal's political drama The Best Man, which kicked off in September 2017 at the Theatre Royal Windsor, will arrive in the West End February 24 at the Playhouse Theatre.

Much of the touring company from the Simon Evans-helmed production will reprise their performances in London.

Leading the company will be Martin Shaw as William Russell and Jeff Fahey as Joseph Cantwell and . They will be joined by Jack Shepherd as Ex-President Hockstader, Glynis Barber as Alice Russell, Honeysuckle Weeks as Mabel Cantwell, and Maureen Lipman. Additional casting will be announced.

The production will also feature set and costume design by Michael Taylor, lighting design by Chris Davey, and composition and sound design by Ed Lewis.

Opening night is scheduled for March 5, and performances will continue through May 12.

The Best Man is set at the national convention, where two candidates are vying for their party's nomination during the primary season. Bill Kenwright produces.
