News Graceland, The Glorious Ones, Chess and Treasure Island Are Non-Equity Jeff Nominees Nominations for the Non-Equity Jeff Awards were announced May 6 in Chicago, where non-union theatre is taken seriously by audiences, critics and industry alike. The awards will be handed out at the 37th Non-Equity Jeff Awards Ceremony on June 7 at the Park West in Chicago, IL.

The awards honor excellence in Chicago theatres not under a union contract, for productions that opened between April 1, 2009, and March 31, 2010.

Among the nominees is Profiles Theatre's production of Ellen Fairey's Graceland. Lincoln Center Theater plucked up the script and is producing a separate Off-Broadway production at the moment.

The most-nominated productions were Theo Ubique's Chess and BoHo's The Glorious Ones, with eight each. Lifeline's new adaptations were honored: Treasure Island earned six, Busman's Honeymoon earned five and Mrs. Caliban took three.

Other new works recognized include The House Theatre of Chicago's Wilson Wants It All with six nominations, and Quest Theatre Ensemble's Evolution/Creation with five nominations.
