News Grease Star Carole Demas Celebrates Summer Nights at the Laurie Beechman Feb. 15 Carole Demas, who starred as Sandy in the original Broadway company of Grease, brings her cabaret act, Summer Nights, to the Laurie Beechman Theatre Feb. 15.

The 7 PM concert, directed by Charles Repole, celebrates the 40th anniversaries of Grease and "The Magic Garden," the 1972 children's television show co-hosted by Demas.

Audiences can expect to hear songs from Broadway and the Great American Songbook as well as pop and rock tunes. Summer Nights features music director Ian Herman on piano, Sean Harkness on guitar and guest performers Paula Janis, Ilene Kristen and Josh Franklin.

Demas, who reunited with the original cast of Grease at Broadway's annual Gypsy of the Year competition last December, has also appeared on Broadway in A Race of Hairy Men! The performer was also seen in the Los Angeles production of The Baker's Wife and Off-Broadway's The Fantasticks.
