News Greenspan, Pine, Barrett Join Royal Family Cast; Tony Winner Yeston Pens Music Additional casting has been announced for the new Manhattan Theatre Club Broadway production of The Royal Family, the showbiz comedy-drama by George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber.

Joining the cast are Larry Pine (Gilbert Marshall), Freddy Arsenault (Perry Stewart), Kelli Barrett (Gwen Cavendish), Carolyn Stefanie Clay (Della), Rufus Collins (McDermott/Gunga), David Greenspan (Jo) and Henny Russell (Ms. Peake). Pine replaces the previously announced Stephen Collins, who has withdrawn from the production for personal reasons.

The previously announced cast members are Ana Gasteyer (Kitty Dean), Tony Award winner John Glover (Herbert Dean), Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee Rosemary Harris (Fanny Cavendish), Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Jan Maxwell (Julie Cavendish), Tony Award nominee Tony Roberts (Oscar Wolfe), and Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award nominee Reg Rogers (Tony Cavendish).

Tony Award-winning composer Maury Yeston (Nine, Titanic) will pen music for the play.

Four additional cast members for the production will be named shortly. Those four cast members will complete the company of 17 actors.

The Royal Family begins rehearsals Aug. 11 at Manhattan Theatre Club and will begin previews Sept. 15 for an Oct. 8 opening at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

According to MTC, "Follow a famous family of stage stars as they go about the drama of the day: choosing scripts, dashing off to performances, stealing kisses from handsome beaus. But what’s this business about the youngest diva wanting to quit the stage for domestic bliss? Never, darling!"

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Kenneth Posner (lighting design), Darron L West (sound design), Maury Yeston (original music), Tom Watson (hair and wig design) and Rick Sordelet (fight director).
