The production began previews June 7 at the Café A Go Go Theatre in midtown Manhattan. Joe and Daniel Corcoran, the producers of Tony n' Tina's Wedding, present the work directed by John Hadden with choreography by Susan Dibble. Café a Go Go invites audiences back to the world of 1960's London when Twiggy and The Beatles were the rage.
The cast of Café a Go Go features Jessica Aquino, Jessica Cannon, Wade Fisher, Zachary Gilman, Stacie May Hassler, Matthew Knowland, Jasika Nicole Pruitt, Stephanie St. Hilaire and Juson Williams.
Featuring 31 rock songs by The Heather Brothers, the '60s homage premiered at London's King's Head Theatre in 1990 under the title A Slice of Saturday Night and then transferred to the West End's Strand Theatre. Slice was Americanized into Fab! when it played in San Francisco's Alcazar Theatre. The London band has collaborated on other musicals, including Big Sin City, The Comeback, Lust and Sin and Salvation.
The performance space at the Edison Hotel, now known as Café A Go Go Theatre, housed former tenant Tony and Tina's Wedding as Vinnie Black's Coliseum.
