Grosses Grosses Analysis: Sara Bareilles’ Final Week Gives Waitress a Boost as Frozen Continues to Keep Broadway Warm The week ending March 11 delivered an uptick to a number of Broadway shows.

A majority of shows saw an increase in ticket sales last week after what was a predominantly slow week for Broadway.

Waitress, which bid farewell to star and creator Sara Bareilles as Jenna over the weekend, took in $1,113,417. The final week of her limited run back in the show saw the Brooks Atkinson filled to almost 90% capacity, a difference of 15 percent from the week before. The show grossed 111 percent of its potential.

SpongeBob SquarePants similarly saw a 15 percent capacity increase, pulling in $620, 203 (compared to $554,158 the week prior), while School of Rock also saw a healthy 14.25 percent increase in capacity, along with Kinky Boots (a 12 percent increase).

Frozen, now in its third week of previews, continues to draw in large crowds. The Disney musical made $1,453,464 with seven performances and was at 98.76 percent capacity, bringing in just over 100 percent of its gross potential.

The Parisian Woman, which ended its limited Broadway engagement March 11, closed on a positive. The show played to 74.71 percent capacity (a 10% increase from the week before), pulling in $467,853 with an uptick in the average ticket price from $76 to $80.
