As several productions prepare to open on Broadway, two long-running, Tony-winning Best Musicals played their final performances April 7: Kinky Boots and The Band's Visit, which took in $1,009,005 and $756,099, respectively, at the box office in their final week.
Kinky Boots, which opened at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in April 2013, surpassed seven figures in its final two weeks. The Band's Visit, last year's Best Musical Tony winner, reached its highest gross of the year (95 percent of its potential) during its swan song week.

Meanwhile, Broadway's Come From Away played to 101.33 percent capacity audiences the week ending April 7, taking in $1,003,207 at the box office. Across the pond, the London production of the hit musical, which tells the true story of 7,000 airline passengers stranded in Newfoundland in the wake of September 11, was named Best New Musical at the 2019 Olivier Awards.
The Broadway revival of Oklahoma!, which officially opened April 7, also played to sold-out crowds. The production, previously seen at Brooklyn's St. Ann's Warehouse, played to 102.7 percent capacity. Read reviews for the reimagined version of the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic here.
Other shows playing at or above full capacity included Dear Evan Hansen, Hamilton, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, The Book of Mormon, and To Kill a Mockingbird.
The highest-grossing production of the week was the Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton, which earned $2,940,209 at the box office. Other top earners: The Lion King ($2,160,102), Wicked ($1,833,162), Harry Potter and the Cursed Child ($1,802,396), and To Kill a Mockingbird ($1,628,150).
