Laurence Maslon produces and hosts the series that will launch July 8 at 7:30 PM with Better When It's Banned, featuring Bergle, Lenox and Marc Vietor. Deb Lapidus will musical direct.

The evening will celebrate songs from the 1920's and 1930's. Here's how it's billed: "Better When It's Banned features a wide range of songs, both familiar and exotic, all of which had to contend with some form of censorship. For the first time, these treasures can be exhibited in all their unexpurgated glory, and presented with an amusing overview of censorship on stage, on the radio, and in Hollywood."

On July 29 at 7:30 PM, Testa, Veanne Cox and David Costabile will perform Comedy Tonight! David Gaines will musical direct.

The final offering, on Aug. 12 at 7:30 PM, will be Mr. Gershwin Goes to Washington: A Presidential Satire. Maslon adapted the evening that will include Kudisch, Anne-Carolyn Bird, David Garrison and Emily Swallow. A "very special political correspondent," to be announced, will narrate. Steven Blier will musical direct.

All performances take place within the John Drew Theatre. Phone (631) 324-0806 or visit GuildHall.org.
