A.R. Gurney’s The Guest Lecturer ends its limited engagement Sunday, Aug. 19 with a 2 PM performance at The New 42nd Street Theater. The show made its New York debut on Aug. 16.

Ian Marshall directs this comedic tale about a guest speaker, a specialist in world drama, who agrees to a public interview at a regional theatre only to realize, while onstage, that he is slated for ritual murder.

The cast features Mary Workman, Christopher De Paola, William Dyszel and Lloyd Arriola. The play, presented by Intermedia Services and Hydra Productions, was originally performed at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ, October of 1998.

Playwright Gurney has had his work produced internationally for over 30 years. He is known for a number of plays, such as The Dining Room, The Perfect Party, Another Antigone, The Cocktail Hour, Love Letters and A Cheever Evening. Later Life made its off-Broadway premiere with a limited run at Playwrights Horizon in 1993.

The Guest Lecturer completes its limited run at The New 42nd Street Theater, located at 348 West 42nd Street and Ninth Avenue. Performances, which began on August 16, start at 8 PM on August 17-18 and at 2 PM on Aug. 19. Tickets are $15 and seating is limited.
